The company outlined a five-layer framework. This framework starts with data capture.
It aims to build towards intraoperative guidance, augmented dexterity, and supervised autonomy.
The framework leverages data from over 20 million da Vinci procedures.
Intuitive also conducted a live telesurgery demonstration. This demonstration occurred between California and Georgia. It used the da Vinci 5 system.
The telesurgery software remains under development. It has not received clearance for clinical use or for sale.
Intuitive has not yet established the software's safety and effectiveness.
