Intesa Sanpaolo held a $966 million stake in Elon Musk’s SpaceX as of June 30, 2026. Italy’s largest bank owns nearly 5.66 million shares in the aerospace firm according to an SEC filing.
The investment follows SpaceX’s initial public offering in June. This position represents the single largest holding in Intesa’s $2.92 billion U.S. share portfolio.
The stake accounts for approximately one-third of the lender's total U.S. equity investments. Reuters reported the move as a strategic entry into the high-growth aerospace sector.
