Finnish firm IQM Quantum Computers began trading on the Nasdaq on July 2, 2026. This debut marks the first time a European quantum computing company has listed on a major U.S. exchange.
The company went public via a merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). This transaction established a market valuation of approximately $1.9 billion.
The listing provides capital for global expansion and research initiatives. However, shares traded below the opening price for much of the first day.
Investor caution reflects the long timeline required for quantum commercial viability. IQM’s prospectus confirmed significant uncertainty regarding large-scale technology adoption.
