Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas regulator, SKK Migas, began reducing natural gas exports to Singapore on October 24, 2026.

The cuts total 31 billion British thermal units per day (BBTUD). They include 15 BBTUD from the Natuna gas fields and 16 BBTUD from Sumatra.

The head of SKK Migas announced the reduction on the evening of October 23, 2026. It follows recent warnings from Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources to review export agreements with countries deemed not to show mutual respect.

The stated reason for the cuts is to prioritize growing domestic demand and protect Indonesia’s natural resources. The policy currently affects only Singapore because the export pipelines connect directly to the island nation.
