ICICI Bank’s board approved doubling its overseas borrowing limit to $5 billion. This decision increases the previous $2.5 billion cap. The board had originally set the lower limit on July 18, 2026.
The bank will raise funds through bonds, notes, and offshore certificates of deposit. This expansion provides greater flexibility to tap global markets for business growth.
The new limit remains subject to regulatory approvals and market conditions. ICICI Bank recently reported a nearly 16% rise in standalone net profit. This performance covers the quarter ended June 2026.
