OKXICE LLC, a joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch a tokenized stock trading platform. It plans to initially offer tokenized shares of 63 NYSE-listed companies.
The filing relies on a new, temporary SEC “innovation exemption” for blockchain-based securities trading under specific conditions. Tokenized shares must carry the same rights as conventional stocks, including dividends and voting rights. Issuers will have 30 days to object before their shares can be traded on the platform.
