Interactive Brokers (IBKR) has launched a cryptocurrency staking service for eligible clients, beginning with Ethereum (ETH). Through the service, clients can earn rewards by participating in the blockchain’s validation process. Digital asset infrastructure firm zerohash provides the service.
Clients can submit requests to stake or unstake holdings through a new dashboard in the IBKR Client Portal. CEO Milan Galik compared the offering to the company’s Stock Yield Enhancement Program, saying it gives clients an opportunity to earn more from assets they hold.
Rewards are paid in additional staked Ethereum, allowing returns to compound.
