SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics have reportedly accepted a 10% price increase from major supplier ASML, effective in January next year. The increase covers consumable and core components for EUV and DUV lithography machines, including optical systems and light sources.
ASML’s decision comes amid surging demand for memory chips and wafer production as AI data centers expand. The higher prices will directly affect SK Hynix’s manufacturing costs for memory products.
Reports also indicate that equipment suppliers Applied Materials and Tokyo Electron have raised their prices.
