Creditors of Hertz Global Holdings are reportedly forming groups and hiring financial and legal advisors as the company faces upcoming debt maturities. The preparations are for potential negotiations over billions of dollars in debt coming due in the next few years, according to a Bloomberg report dated October 7, 2026.

A group of secured lenders has reportedly hired Evercore and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. A separate group that includes Canso Investment Counsel has retained Houlihan Lokey and Ropes & Gray.

The development follows earlier reports that Hertz was working with PJT Partners to manage its obligations. Some of the company’s debt is trading at distressed levels.
