Shares of Honest Company surged as much as 9.7% to $4.87 in early trading November 6, after the clean-label baby and personal-care maker posted third-quarter results that topped Wall Street expectations on nearly every metric — and then told investors the rest of 2026 would be even better than previously forecast.
• Revenue Beat Masks an Intentional Shrink. Revenue came in at $84.6 million, down 8.6% year-over-year, but organic revenue — stripping out product lines the company deliberately exited — rose 9.2% to $79.3 million, fueled by growth in wipes and personal care.
The top line cleared the consensus estimate of $80.79 million by nearly $4 million. The shrinkage is a feature, not a bug: Honest has been pruning low-margin apparel and direct-to-consumer operations to sharpen its focus. But investors should watch whether that pruning eventually runs its course and headline growth must carry the story alone.
• Margins Hit Records, Signaling a Leaner Operation. Underlying adjusted gross margin reached 49%, a company record and an improvement of nearly 1,200 basis points from a year earlier.
The expansion was driven by supply-chain consolidation — including a shift to a single Nevada warehouse — and a richer product mix tilted toward higher-margin personal care.
Underlying adjusted EBITDA (essentially operating profit before certain accounting items) hit $6.3 million, with margins up 300 basis points year-over-year.
• Raised Guidance Puts Credibility on the Line. Honest lifted its full-year 2026 revenue outlook to $322–$325 million (from $319–$325 million), organic revenue growth to 6%–7%, adjusted gross margin to 45.5%–46.5%, and adjusted EBITDA to $25–$26 million (from $23–$25 million).
The company also announced a new $30 million share buyback program, signaling management's confidence in sustained growth.
• Valuation Still Demands Proof. At a price-to-sales ratio of roughly 1.49×, Honest trades above its historical median of about 1.1× , meaning the market is already pricing in continued improvement. Seven analysts rate the stock a "Buy" with an average 12-month target of $5.20 , only modest upside from today's price. The company's $103 million cash position and zero debt provide a cushion , but Honest must prove it can convert margin gains into durable top-line growth once its portfolio pruning is complete.
