HIVE Digital Technologies signed Canada's Responsible Data Centre Development Principles, a voluntary government framework. HIVE joins Amazon Web Services, Google, Microsoft, and Meta in this initiative. The principles focus on community benefits, energy cost transparency, water conservation, and minimizing ecological impacts.
This move aligns with HIVE's $3.5 billion investment in a new AI-focused data center in the Greater Toronto Area. The facility will house over 100,000 GPUs. It will feature a zero-water usage cooling system. Launch is expected in the second half of 2027.
