A new analysis says Warrior Met Coal’s investment case is no longer just a bet on metallurgical coal prices. Earnings growth is now driven primarily by higher production volumes and lower costs per ton following the successful ramp-up of Blue Creek Mine.

In the second quarter of 2026, Warrior recorded sales volumes. The quarter also brought lower unit costs. Blue Creek has introduced a second product line, and Warrior delivered strong earnings despite weaker prices for its High-Vol A product.

Warrior has contracted 90% of Blue Creek’s expected 2026 output. The mine is expected to produce 5 million short tons that year, signaling market adoption of its output. The company raised its full-year sales forecast.

Investors are watching realized pricing, further cost reductions and cash levels for signs that share buybacks may be possible.
