First Eagle Investment Management significantly increased its position in HCA Healthcare, buying an estimated $1.30 billion in shares during the second quarter of 2026. According to its latest 13F filing, the firm boosted its holdings by over 102%, from 3.25 million to 6.59 million shares. This transaction raised the total reported value of its stake to $2.57 billion, making it a 4.23% position in First Eagle's disclosed portfolio.
As with all 13F filings, this disclosure reflects trades executed in the quarter ending June 30, 2026, and was made public on August 24. During that period, HCA reported a revenue increase to $20.23 billion for the quarter but also noted headwinds from a decline in surgical volumes and a shift in payer mix due to fewer enrollees in Affordable Care Act exchanges. In its own Q2 commentary, First Eagle noted these challenges but expressed continued confidence in HCA's management and its capital return strategies.
