Halliburton signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) to explore energy development opportunities in Venezuela. These non-binding agreements are with Eneva, Brazil's largest private natural gas operator, and engineering firm WESCA (West-Construcciones CA).
The Eneva collaboration focuses on identifying and pursuing natural gas development opportunities. This builds on the companies' existing relationship in Brazil.
The WESCA MOU involves Halliburton supporting field evaluation and development planning. These agreements mark a step for Halliburton to potentially re-establish its presence in Venezuela. Halliburton scaled back operations in the country in 2020.
