Goldman Sachs strategists cut their 12-month target for South Korea’s KOSPI index by 25%. The new target is 9,000, down from 12,000.

The strategists cited growing concerns about the sustainability of the AI-driven trade. The index has fallen 35% from its June 2026 high, prompting more conservative valuation assumptions.

Despite the downgrade, the strategists, including Timothy Moe, said the sell-off has left South Korea’s stock market significantly undervalued. The revised target implies upside of more than 60% from the index’s current level, according to a note released on October 25.
