Goldman Sachs is the lead bidder to acquire Palmer Square Capital Management.
The Kansas-based asset manager oversees more than $37 billion in assets. Chris and Angie Long founded the firm, which specializes in credit-focused investments.
Talks are currently advanced but have not reached a final decision. The potential transaction could still conclude without a deal.
The acquisition would bolster Goldman’s presence in the expanding private and structured credit markets. Palmer Square acts as a significant issuer of collateralized loan obligations (CLOs). This move would deepen Goldman's footprint in specialized corporate lending.
