According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the collective wealth of technology-sector billionaires has risen by $845 billion so far in 2026. Billionaires in all other industries have lost a combined $62 billion over the same period.
The AI boom has significantly increased the value of companies tied to the technology, concentrating market gains in the sector. Alphabet's founders and Meta's CEO have recorded substantial gains. Nvidia's CEO and Michael Dell of Dell Technologies have also seen their fortunes soar, fueled by strong demand for AI-related hardware and servers.
