Google announced a $17 billion data center campus in Laramie County, Wyoming. The 700-acre project, codenamed Project Tembo, was previously led by Crusoe Energy.
The site will feature four data center buildings and a logistics center. It also includes a two-story office complex.
Construction begins by the end of 2024. The first phase becomes operational in the second half of 2028. Full completion is expected by the end of 2031.
The investment supports Google's expanding AI and cloud services infrastructure. Google is seeking a conditional use permit for the office complex. The company will appear before the Laramie County Planning Commission for initial approval. The facility will use a closed-loop cooling system to conserve water.
