Google Cloud has announced a universal AI agent for enterprise clients that can autonomously handle complex, multi-day tasks across workplace applications. The Gemini agent can research information, generate code and manage workflows by understanding objectives rather than simply following instructions.
The agent runs in the cloud and maintains memory and context across devices and applications, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Slack. It can have its own identity, such as an email address and storage, allowing it to function as a digital team member.
The platform is model-agnostic and supports Anthropic’s Claude. Google plans to add other AI models in the future.
