Crux AI, a $5 billion joint venture between Google and Blackstone, appointed former Meta engineering head Alan Duong as Chief Development Officer. Duong previously led Meta’s transition toward AI-centric data centers. He will now oversee the delivery of massive AI computing capacity for the neocloud startup.

The venture provides cloud services powered by Google’s Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). This initiative supports Google’s strategy to monetize its custom AI silicon.

Crux AI targets 500MW of data center capacity online by 2027. The company aims for a long-term scaling goal of 2GW annually.
