Anthropic has released Claude Haiku 5.5, its latest and most affordable AI model for high-volume, cost-sensitive enterprise tasks such as summarization, content classification and customer support. Anthropic describes it as its fastest and most capable small model.
Haiku 5.5 costs approximately 75% less to operate than its predecessor, Claude Haiku 4.5. Rates for smaller tasks are cut by 90%, matching competitors such as OpenAI's GPT-6 Luna.
The release is the third in the Claude 5.5 series within the past month. It is Anthropic's first Haiku-class model with adjustable effort settings, which let users balance cost and performance.
The model is available through the Claude API, Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud.
