Alphabet is investing €13 billion ($15 billion) to expand its data center footprint in Finland. This project represents the company’s largest single investment in Europe. The expansion includes the existing Hamina site and the development of three new facilities.
These centers will support growing demand for Google Search, Maps, and Gemini AI. Alphabet signed a 20-year agreement to purchase 50% of the power from the Loviisa nuclear plant. This move secures clean energy for the company's regional operations.
The investment will support thousands of jobs during the construction period. The project is expected to contribute billions of euros to Finland’s annual GDP.
