General Motors established a $4.5 billion financing deal to secure critical auto parts. This agreement aims to prevent supply chain disruptions and production stoppages.
Inventory management firm Procura Auto Parts will prepay select suppliers on behalf of GM. A bank syndicate led by JPMorgan Chase and Banco Santander provides the funding for Procura.
GM intends to preserve cash by repaying Procura only after using the components. The final deadline for these repayments is July 31, 2029. GM has not disclosed the specific parts targeted by the deal.
