Unifor members ratified a new three-year collective agreement with General Motors. The contract covers more than 4,600 Canadian employees. The main bargaining unit approved the deal with an 80.5% majority.

The agreement secures over C$1.1 billion in total investments for GM’s Canadian facilities. GM will invest C$144 million to produce next-generation heavy-duty GMC Sierra pickups in Oshawa. The St. Catharines facility receives C$215 million to manufacture next-generation transmissions.

GM also committed to keeping the idled CAMI plant in Ingersoll open. The deal stabilizes Canadian operations during ongoing trade tensions with the United States.
