Golar LNG has agreed to acquire the LNG carrier Grace Dahlia from Japan’s NYK Line. Built in 2013, the vessel is slated for conversion into Golar’s fourth floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) production unit. The project was first ordered on August 12, 2026.
The acquisition supports Golar’s strategy to expand its FLNG fleet. Grace Dahlia has a storage capacity of 177,427 cubic meters. That is about 20% more than the capacity of Golar’s Esperanza, which is under construction.
The conversion will take place at the CIMC Raffles shipyard in China, with delivery scheduled for 2029. Golar says the unit is expected to be the earliest new FLNG capacity available globally.
