CFM International, a 50/50 joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Turkish Airlines covering an engine purchase and services agreement.

The deal includes more than 300 new LEAP-1B engines and spares. They will power 100 firm Boeing 737 MAX aircraft recently ordered by Turkish Airlines, along with 50 optional aircraft.

A long-term service contract will cover the entire LEAP-1B fleet operated by Turkish Airlines and its subsidiary, AJet. The services agreement covers more than 600 engines, including those powering existing and future aircraft.

The memorandum also includes a material services agreement to support the establishment of an engine maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Türkiye. The facility will bolster Turkish Technic's ability to service LEAP engines. The financial terms were not disclosed.
