On October 1, 2026, Gain Therapeutics announced positive long-term data from the Phase 1b open-label extension study of rexaceract in patients with Parkinson’s disease. The company plans to present the findings in a poster at the International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders, taking place October 4–8, 2026.
Patients’ motor scores remained stable over 12 months, supporting rexaceract’s potential disease-modifying effect. Gain Therapeutics reported no new safety signals. Treatment-emergent adverse events were less frequent during the extension than during the initial three-month study period.
The company plans to submit a Phase 2 protocol to the FDA in the coming weeks and expects to start the trial in the first quarter of 2027.
