Six Flags Entertainment Corporation appointed Mark Pauls as Chief Operating Officer, effective July 15, 2026. Pauls brings nearly 50 years of industry experience from Herschend Family Entertainment, SeaWorld, and Busch Gardens. He succeeds Tim Fisher, who will serve as Special Advisor until December 15, 2026. This leadership transition follows the company's recent merger with Cedar Fair.

The appointment aims to leverage Pauls' expertise to improve guest experiences and operational efficiency. Pauls will receive a base salary of $600,000. His target annual bonus is set at 90% of his base salary. The agreement also includes annual restricted stock unit awards valued at $1.56 million.

Six Flags' stock closed higher following the announcement but saw a slight dip in after-hours trading. Leadership views the change as a critical step toward realizing synergies from the merger.
