FMC Corporation submitted a regulatory dossier for its novel herbicide, rimisoxafen, to Brazilian authorities for review. This is the herbicide’s second global submission, following a filing with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in July 2026.

Rimisoxafen is being developed as the industry’s first dual-mode-of-action herbicide, designed to combat resistant broadleaf weeds in crops such as soybeans and corn. The submission supports FMC’s strategy to expand its next-generation crop protection offerings.

Brazil is a central focus for rimisoxafen’s development, with about 70 million hectares devoted to soybean and corn production combined. The herbicide targets two different biochemical pathways in weeds and is expected to offer growers a tool against increasing resistance to existing products.
