First Mining Gold Corp. signed a definitive Consultation and Benefits Agreement with Cat Lake First Nation and Lac Seul First Nation. This long-term deal covers the construction, operation, and closure of the Springpole Project in northwestern Ontario.
The agreement follows a four-year, Anishinaabe-led Impact Assessment process. It establishes certainty for the project's development path while respecting Indigenous laws and community-led governance.
Cat Lake and Lac Seul First Nations will hold key roles in environmental management. The collaboration provides the communities with financial benefits, training, employment, and business opportunities.
