A consortium including Ferrovial has been named preferred bidder for a public-private partnership to develop part of the D35 highway in the Czech Republic. The project is valued at approximately €2.9 billion ($3.27 billion).

Ferrovial will participate through its Cintra highways division and Polish subsidiary Budimex, alongside Strabag and Invesis.

The project covers the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of 35.4 kilometers of new highway. The agreement also includes operating and maintaining an adjacent 17-kilometer section, bringing the total managed network to about 52 kilometers.

The concession runs for 28 years. The project is part of a major Czech transportation infrastructure plan intended to improve connectivity between Bohemia and Moravia.
