South Korea’s largest telecom carrier, KT, announced the launch of a dedicated network service for AI data centers on October 14, 2026. The service offers speeds of up to 800Gbps. That is eight times the company’s previous maximum bandwidth for dedicated lines.

The network is designed to provide the high-capacity, low-latency connections needed to link geographically distributed AI data centers and the powerful GPU infrastructure inside them. KT aims to tap rising demand for specialized infrastructure driven by the AI boom, potentially opening a significant new revenue stream.

The launch sets a new competitive benchmark for telecom providers seeking to support AI development. KT has not named initial customers or disclosed pricing. The service is expected to pressure carriers in South Korea and other markets to accelerate network upgrades for demanding AI workloads.
