Franklin BSP Realty Trust exits S&P 600, sparking index fund selling

S&P Dow Jones Indices will remove Franklin BSP Realty Trust (FBRT) from the S&P SmallCap 600. The change takes effect before the market opens on Monday, September 21, 2026.

The removal occurs as part of a regular quarterly rebalance. S&P Dow Jones Indices determined that FBRT no longer accurately represents the small-cap market segment.
