Swedish private equity firm EQT raised $9.4 billion for its new, open-ended AI Infrastructure Fund. The firm launched the vehicle in April and seeded it with data center platform EdgeConnex. EQT has maintained an investment in EdgeConnex for the past six years.

The fundraising total combines primary capital and secondary capital from minority stake sales in EdgeConneX. CPP Investments contributed a $1.75 billion commitment to the fund. This strategic pivot targets digital infrastructure to capitalize on surging AI-driven data processing demand.
