Eos Energy Enterprises received an $87 million advance from the U.S. Department of Energy to fund its Thorn Hill battery facility in Warrendale, Pennsylvania.
This payment marks the first advance under the second tranche of a larger loan agreement. Total draws from the DOE facility now reach approximately $178 million since 2024.
The capital reimburses 80% of eligible costs for the site's second production line, which began commercial operations in June 2026. These funds will return to the company's balance sheet for future investment.
Eos plans to consolidate manufacturing at the Thorn Hill site. The facility is expected to support 4 GWh of annual production capacity once the second line is fully ramped.
