Wall Street Zen downgraded The Ensign Group, Inc. to Hold from Buy as the company faces a growing securities class-action lawsuit. Multiple law firms are notifying investors of the December 7, 2026, lead plaintiff deadline.
The lawsuit alleges Ensignβs business model depends on resident neglect, including insufficient food and medical care leading to deaths. The complaint further claims the company defrauded Medicaid and Medicare, falsified staffing hours, and engaged in an illegal scheme to rent administrator licenses.
Despite legal challenges, Ensign reported quarterly earnings per share of $1.92, beating the $1.80 analyst estimate. Revenue increased 16.7% year-over-year to $1.44 billion. The company issued full-year 2026 EPS guidance of $7.750 to $7.850.
