Enlight Renewable Energy and German company Enertrag have begun construction on a battery energy storage system in Germany. The project will have a capacity of 200 MW/840 MWh.

The system is designed to store excess wind and solar power and feed it back to the grid during periods of high demand.

The project marks a step in Enlight’s expansion into Europe’s energy storage market, where storage can support grid stability as renewable energy use grows. It is among the largest projects of its kind in the region.
