Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd announced the resumption of four joint container services through the Suez Canal on Monday. The AE5, AE11, AE12, and ME2 routes will return to the corridor after previously rerouting around the Cape of Good Hope.

The decision follows a period of security concerns in the Red Sea and indicates growing confidence in the safety of the maritime corridor. These services facilitate primary trade connections between Asia and Europe.

Increased operational activity is expected to boost demand for local providers like Canal Shipping Agencies Company. The shipping giants aim to offer customers more efficient transit times through the restored routes.
