Anthropic reported a net loss of $80.7 billion in the first half of 2026, largely due to accounting charges, according to its draft IPO filing. The company reported revenue of $16.3 billion for the same period. A small number of customers accounted for a significant share of that revenue.
Anthropic spent nearly $9 billion on computing resources in the first half of the year. It has also committed approximately $450 billion to cloud services over the next 7 to 10 years with partners including Google and Microsoft. The company could spend up to $86 billion to rent Nvidia chips.
Anthropic said potential future spending could reach $750 billion as it expands computing capacity. It is also exploring building its own data centers because current cloud providers have limited capacity.
