The Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) selected Dell Technologies to build a new AI and high-performance computing (HPC) platform. Named IGNITE, the project is funded by the State of Texas. It will support large-scale, AI-driven research in national security, engineering, and scientific discovery.
The platform will utilize Dell's liquid-cooled PowerEdge servers. These servers feature AMD Instinct GPUs to handle complex AI workloads. This initiative builds on an existing relationship between Dell and the Texas A&M University System.
Equinix will house the new infrastructure at its Dallas data center. The system is designed to manage various workloads with different security needs under a unified system.
