The U.S. Department of Justice has closed its investigation into cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike’s deals with a distributor without bringing criminal or civil charges. The probe, disclosed by the company last year, examined revenue recognition practices and specific transactions, including a $32 million deal with Carahsoft Technology Corp. to supply software to the Internal Revenue Service.

According to reports, DOJ lawyers informed people involved in the inquiry in July that the review was complete. The investigation examined transactions dating back to early 2025.

The DOJ probe’s conclusion resolves a key uncertainty for CrowdStrike. The status of a parallel inquiry by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission remains unclear.
