Coupang has filed two administrative lawsuits against the South Korean government, challenging fines imposed over a data breach by the Personal Information Protection Commission, the country’s privacy regulator. The penalties total 620 billion won, or approximately $462 million.

The US-listed e-commerce company is seeking to overturn the fines and has requested a stay on their enforcement.

Coupang is also challenging a separate Korea Fair Trade Commission order requiring it to submit a decade’s worth of records as part of an investigation. The outcomes of the legal disputes could affect the company’s finances and its relationship with regulators in its primary market.
