Capitec has partnered with global visual communication platform Canva to enable subscription payments via Capitec Pay. Facilitated by payments technology company EBANX, this marks the first time an international firm has adopted Capitec’s direct account-to-account method for recurring billing.
The integration expands Capitec’s payment utility beyond one-off transactions into the subscription economy. This move aims to increase transaction volumes and user engagement, strengthening Capitec’s position in South Africa’s digital banking sector.
