Coursera partnered with Acadeum, an online course-sharing platform used by more than 600 colleges and universities. The deal will make Coursera’s catalog of industry-recognized professional certificates available through Acadeum’s marketplace, expanding Coursera’s reach in higher education and giving more learners access to career-focused programs.
Coursera also released the eighth edition of its Global Skills Report. The 2026 report introduces a new AI-Human Skills Synergy Index.
The report ranks the United States eighth globally in overall AI preparedness and 27th in learner proficiency. It highlights a widening gap between AI deployment and workers’ readiness to use the technology effectively.
Year over year, U.S. learner enrollment in AI security rose 358%. Enrollment in critical thinking rose 206%.
