Samsung is partnering with Coinbase to add USDC transfers to Samsung Wallet for U.S. Galaxy users. The feature is set to launch in the last week of October and will be available on approximately 82 million compatible devices.

Users will be able to send and receive USDC in the wallet they already use for cards and IDs. Coinbase Prime will custody all USDC held in Samsung Wallets through its regulated institutional platform.

The service is designed to make cross-border remittances easier. Users can send USDC to other crypto wallets internationally or to bank accounts in over 60 countries, where funds will be converted into local currency.

The integration builds on the companies’ existing relationship and aims to broaden consumer use of stablecoins for payments and transfers.
