Co-Diagnostics, Inc. (CODX) announced a collaboration with UK-based ReadyGo Diagnostics Ltd. to evaluate the use of ReadyGo's sample-preparation technology with the Co-Dx PCR platform. The partnership aims to enable blood-based molecular testing at the point of need, expanding the platform's capabilities beyond its current swab-based applications.

Key Details

  • Collaboration Focus: The initial project will focus on developing a decentralized test for the Ebola virus by combining ReadyGo's GoCollect® blood sample-preparation system with Co-Diagnostics' Co-Dx® PCR platform.
  • Strategic Importance: A successful integration would expand the Co-Dx platform's addressable market to include bloodborne pathogens, with the company identifying potential future applications for HIV and hepatitis B and C testing.
  • Current Status: The companies have begun feasibility work to evaluate the compatibility of the two technologies. However, there is no assurance that the evaluation will lead to a commercially available product. The Co-Dx PCR platform has not yet been cleared or authorized by the FDA.
