Value investing stalwart Ruane, Cunniff & Goldfarb, advisor to the Sequoia Fund, virtually eliminated its position in Charter Communications during the second quarter of 2026. According to a recent SEC disclosure, the firm sold 98.98% of its stake, reducing its holding from over 152,000 shares to just 1,560. This transaction occurred between April 1 and June 30, as revealed in a 13F filing made public on August 14.
This move follows a significant reduction of its Charter stake in the first quarter of 2026. While the investment manager has not publicly commented on the specific reasons for this near-total liquidation, the sale removes what was once a 0.55% portfolio position. The firm's quarterly letter for the period did not mention the Charter sale, though it noted other full exits from different companies.
