Charter Communications confirmed a cybersecurity incident following claims by the hacking group ShinyHunters.
The group alleges it stole 42 million customer records from the company's Salesforce instance.
ShinyHunters threatened to leak the data unless Charter pays a ransom by May 27, 2026.
Charter stated its investigation found no evidence that sensitive personal or network information was exfiltrated.
The company notified authorities and is currently following security protocols.
