A coalition of major technology companies, private equity firms and U.S. unions has formed the American Infrastructure Alliance. Key partners include Blackstone, OpenAI, SoftBank and QTS, a data center operator owned by Blackstone.

The alliance aims to work with state and local officials to establish standards for the responsible development of data centers by 2027. The effort comes as the AI boom drives massive demand for new data centers, raising community and environmental concerns in several regions.
