BSE Ltd. will join the Nifty 50, the National Stock Exchange of India’s benchmark index, on September 30, 2026. It will replace IT services company Wipro as part of the index’s semi-annual rebalancing.
BSE’s average free-float market capitalization significantly exceeded that of the index’s smallest constituent, securing its inclusion.
The change is expected to bring passive investment flows into BSE shares. Axis Capital analysts estimate potential inflows of approximately $657 million as index-tracking funds adjust their portfolios.
Wipro is expected to see outflows of around $225 million. Analyst views on BSE are mixed: Macquarie rates the stock Outperform, while Jefferies rates it Underperform, citing potential headwinds.
